Founder’s Letter
For 16 years, I lived my life in the sky — a corporate flight attendant, travelling the world, exploring breathtaking places, meeting extraordinary people, and immersing myself in diverse cultures. But behind the glamour, there was another side: no routine, endless jet lag, erratic sleep, struggles to eat well or stay fit, missing birthdays, weddings, Christmases, and time with my family. After more than two decades in hospitality, I made the brave decision to come home to Cape Town. I wanted a “normal” life — to be surrounded by nature, share good food with beautiful souls, walk on the beach with my fur babies, spend time with friends, and finally enjoy the hobbies I had always dreamed of during those magnificent trips.
The Shift
Life, however, had a twist in store. On 29 April 2025, I was diagnosed with breast cancer — a shock that stopped me in my tracks. I had done “all the right things” — eaten healthily, gone to the gym five times a week, kept my sugar low. But cancer doesn’t follow rules. If there’s one unexpected gift a diagnosis gives you, it’s the time to reflect. On your health. Your relationships. Your habits. Your stress. Your happiness. After two surgeries, I am now in remission, and strangely, I am grateful. Because in my 40's, I finally know what truly matters — and what I will no longer tolerate in the one, precious life we each get to live.
Part of my healing journey was re-evaluating what I put in and on my body. My doctors encouraged me to use clean, non-toxic products — and that’s when I discovered the extraordinary benefits of snail mucin.

The most sought-after snail species for mucin, Helix Aspersa Müller, is at the heart of Slō Skin. Alongside my parents, we created Slō Skin to share this extraordinary ingredient in its purest form - 99% ethically harvested snail mucin, organic, cruelty-free, and cold-filtered to preserve every drop of potency. Laboratory testing confirmed its exceptional purity: no organisms at the three-week challenge test, and a perfect skin-friendly pH of 4.24.
